The Friends of Afghan Women Support Network (FAWN) is a global initiative focused on taking practical steps to support Afghan women who are trapped and isolated under the Taliban regime. Through a bottom-up approach, FAWN provides direct support to women on the ground, helping them stay active, work from home, and access vital resources.

Since the Taliban's return to power in 2021, Afghan women have been systematically denied access to education, employment, and public spaces. Despite these oppressive measures, their courage and resilience remain unbroken.

FAWN is committed to helping women now—keeping them engaged, productive, and connected, even as they face confinement. In addition to this direct support, FAWN will work with the global community to put pressure on the Taliban de-facto regime, advocating for systemic changes that restore Afghan women’s rights and freedoms.

  • “We want to foster trust, mentorship, and support for Afghan women and girls living under the Taliban regime”

  • "FAWN seeks to empower Afghan women by demonstrating that the global community stands with them"

Join the HerAlly campaign

HerAlly connects Afghan women with women worldwide, building direct support networks and friendships to sustain hope and resilience . This campaign was created after we received thousands of messages on social media from women asking how they can help and support Afghan women from abroad. In the face of isolation and repression, especially after the NATO withdrawal, many Afghan women feel abandoned and betrayed.

By becoming a HerAlly, you can provide meaningful friendship, skills-sharing, advocacy, and personal empowerment, helping women keep the hope for social change alive inside Afghanistan. Sign up today to learn how you can make a difference.
